

ALBA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2026: EMMA SMITH INAUGURATES THE 19TH EDITION AT GRINZANE CAVOUR CASTLE
The 19th edition of the Alba Jazz Festival 2026 got underway on Thursday, 9 July, with the opening concert by Emma Smith, hosted in the stunning setting of the Park of Grinzane Cavour Castle.
The British singer performed Bitter Orange, her solo project, reaffirming the talent and artistic sensitivity that have made her one of the most appreciated voices in contemporary jazz scene.
Already known for her experience with the Puppini Sisters, Emma Smith captivated the audience with an intense and refined performance, combining the charm of great vocal jazz with a contemporary approach and a distinctive interpretative personality.
Accompanied by Sam Watts on piano, Conor Chaplin on double bass and Steve Brown on drums, the artist delivered an elegant and engaging concert, offering the audience an evening of outstanding music and extraordinary emotion.
The event, organised by the Alba Jazz Association, chaired by Fabio Barbero, in collaboration with the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour, opened the new edition of the festival in the best possible way, once again confirming the high quality of its artistic programme and the prestige of the event.
