The World Alba White Truffle auction: a value that becomes solidarity
FROM LOCAL DONATIONS TO PROJECTS SUPPORTED IN INTERNATIONAL VENUES: THE SOLIDARITY JOURNEY OF THE EVENT THAT RAISED 502 THOUSAND EUROS WORLDWIDE CONTINUES
The Alba White Truffle World Auction once again confirms itself not only as an event of extraordinary international promotion for the territory of Alba, the Langhe and the Roero, but also as a genuine and tangible driver of solidarity.
An initiative that goes beyond the prestige of the event and translates into a widespread and ongoing commitment: giving value back to the territory and supporting social and humanitarian projects, both in Italy and in the international venues connected with Grinzane Cavour Castle.
Organized by the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour, with the support of the Piedmont Region, ENIT – Italian National Tourist Board, the Consortium Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani, the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board, the International Alba White Truffle Fair, the National Centre for the Study of Truffles, and the Order of Knights of the Truffle and Wines of Alba, the 2025 edition of the charity event raised a total of €502,000, thanks to the participation of philanthropists and collectors connected from all over the world.
THE SOLIDARITY OF THE INTERNATIONAL VENUES CONNECTED WITH THE CASTLE OF GRINZANE CAVOUR
Once again, Hong Kong proved to be the undisputed queen of the Auction, raising a total of €400,000 and confirming its position among the most generous international venues. Together with the Asian metropolis, this year the Auction brought together four continents, thanks to connections with Bangkok, Singapore, Vienna, Frankfurt and, for the first time, Rio de Janeiro, spreading the solidarity of the Alba White Truffle around the world.
The funds raised in the various international venues support charitable projects with a strong social impact: in Hong Kong, the association Mother’s Choice, which supports orphans and young mothers; in Singapore, the SPCA – Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; in Bangkok, the Border Patrol Police School Foundation, under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn; in Vienna, Acker Österreich, which promotes sustainability and natural agriculture; in Frankfurt, the Youth Cup, dedicated to youth paralympic sports; and in Rio de Janeiro, Solar Meninos de Luz, supporting children in the city’s largest favela.
THE SOLIDARITY OF THE CASTLE OF GRINZANE CAVOUR
The Grinzane Cavour venue also made a significant contribution to the solidarity efforts. The three lots auctioned at the Castle raised a total of €37,400, which will be allocated to numerous charitable organizations both locally and beyond.
Among these are the Association Every Child is My Child, to fund a school in Turkey dedicated to Syrian refugee boys and girls, as well as initiatives in the West Bank supporting young cancer patients; the Disabili Sport Foundation and the Emiliano Mondonico Foundation, helping children experience sport without barriers; the Amici di Bruno Frea of Corneliano d’Alba, to continue the construction of an operating room at North Kinangop Hospital in Kenya; the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research in Candiolo; and the Collina degli Elfi in Govone, a project dedicated to families with children who have completed cancer treatment and begun their recovery journey.
To conclude the solidarity initiatives linked to the 2025 Auction, in recent days the Board of Directors of the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour approved three additional contributions.
The first supports the APEA Italia – Amici di Pier e Checco Association, promoting educational and social projects that use sport—particularly football—as a tool for inclusion and personal growth; the second supports the Ludica APS Association of Alba, backing a social inclusion initiative for children and young people with complex disabilities and their families.
The third contribution will be allocated to the ADS Zerocento Langhe Association, with the aim of enabling children with disabilities to take part in the Estate Ragazzi summer activities held in Grinzane Cavour.
INSTITUTIONS: TRADITION AND SOLIDARITY
“The World Alba White Truffle Auction continues to demonstrate that promoting a territory can go hand in hand with tangible solidarity,” comments Roberto Bodrito, President of the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour. “The results of the 2025 edition now allow us to support projects of great value, both internationally and within our local area, ensuring continuity in a path that combines prestige with concrete attention to people. Special thanks go to the Piedmont Region, to President Alberto Cirio and to the Regional Councillor for Agriculture and Tourism, Paolo Bongioanni, for their important support of an initiative which, in its uniqueness, ensures that the funds raised do not end with their original value, but are transformed and multiplied into solidarity initiatives capable of generating lasting benefits in Italy and around the world. I also thank the mayors Alberto Gatto and Gianfranco Garau for their collaboration and constant support along this shared journey.”
“The World Alba White Truffle Auction represents a moment of great international prestige, but also a concrete opportunity to give value back to the territory and support organizations that work in the social sector every day,” jointly emphasize the Vice Presidents of the Enoteca and mayors of Alba, Alberto Gatto, and of Grinzane Cavour, Gianfranco Garau. “Seeing that part of the proceeds is returned to support local associations and projects is a source of pride for our communities and confirms the deep value of an event capable of combining tradition, territorial promotion, and solidarity.”
