“NARRATED DINNERS” AT GRINZANE CAVOUR CASTLE

THE CYCLE OF EVENINGS COMBINING GASTRONOMY, NARRATION AND LOCAL CULTURE IN THE UNESCO CASTLE PARK HAS CONCLUDED SUCCESSFULLY

The series of events “Narrated Dinners”, hosted in the charming park of the Castle of Grinzane Cavour and promoted by the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour within the framework of the project “Short Supply Chain in the UNESCO Castle”, has concluded with excellent participation and great appreciation from the public.

The evenings, which enlivened the month of July, succeeded in transforming dinner into an immersive experience capable of uniting the authentic flavours of the territory with the evocative power of storytelling.

The protagonists of the initiative were actor, director and storyteller of the territory Paolo Tibaldi and chef Alessandro Mecca, who guided guests through an emotional journey among taste, memory and identity of the Langhe.

Through the events – “Flavours that Speak” and “The Hills Within” – participants had the opportunity to rediscover the cultural and gastronomic heritage of Piedmont, experiencing moments of conviviality and sharing in one of the symbolic places of the wine‑growing landscape recognised by UNESCO.

The menus created for the occasion by chef Alessandro Mecca enhanced the products, traditions and raw materials of the territory, while the stories narrated by Paolo Tibaldi gave voice to the people, gestures and landscapes that have contributed to shaping the identity of the Langhe, offering an authentic and profound perspective on rural culture.

«The success of the “Narrated Dinners” – declare Roberto Bodrito, President of the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour, and Vice Presidents Alberto Gatto and Gianfranco Garau – confirms how strong the desire is to experience the territory through initiatives capable of engaging emotions, culture and traditions. The participation recorded during the evenings testifies to the value of initiatives that place at the centre the quality of hospitality, the enhancement of local productions and the narration of an extraordinary land».

Great satisfaction also from the protagonists of the initiative. «It has been a privilege to share with the guests this journey through memory and identity – comments Paolo Tibaldi –.

Each evening demonstrated how storytelling can become a precious tool for understanding and enhancing the human and cultural heritage of this territory».

«Cuisine can narrate a land as much as a book or a landscape – adds Alessandro Mecca –. In these weeks we have witnessed the birth of an authentic dialogue between dishes, stories and people, showing how gastronomy can be a powerful vehicle of culture».

The initiative is part of the project “Short Supply Chain in the UNESCO Castle”, aimed at enhancing local products and developing short supply chains in the markets of the territory, promoted by the Piedmont Region and by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2023–2027 through measure SRG07.1.
