AT THE CASTLE OF GRINZANE CAVOUR, THE SOLIDARITY EVENT PROMOTED BY ENOTECA REGIONALE PIEMONTESE CAVOUR IS BACK ON 13th NOVEMBER
On Sunday 13th November, the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, holds the event of the Alba White Truffle World Auction®.
The prestigious manor is preparing to host within its walls the 23rd edition of one of the most important international solidarity events which celebrates Italian agri-food excellence. It is organised by Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour (Piedmont Regional Wine Shop), with the precious support offered by Regione Piemonte (Piedmont Region), by Enit – Agenzia Nazionale Italiana del Turismo (Italian National Agency for Tourism), by Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero (Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board), by Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba (International Alba White Truffle Fair), by Centro Nazionale Studi Tartufo (National Truffle Study Centre) and by Ordine dei Cavalieri del Tartufo e dei Vini di Alba (Order of Knights of the Truffle and Wines of Alba).
As usual the international locations in connection with the Castle of Grinzane dispute extraordinary lots of the Alba White Truffle in combination with large format wines of producers belonging to Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani (Consorzio for the Defense of Typical Wines of Pregio Barolo and Barbaresco).
Over 5 million 700 thousand euros, raised since 1999 and donated to solidarity organisations and projects in Italy and in the World, are the result of the many genereous philanthropists who have been actively involved in the charity project over the years.
LIVE CONNECTIONS
The longstanding connection with the metropolis of Hong Kong has been confirmed, thanks to the precious collaboration of Chef Umberto Bombana – Three Michelin Stars – and of Maria Pranzo of Areté food and wine, in order to raise funds for Mother’s Choice Institute, a nonprofit organisation supporting orphans in order to give them hope and new life chances with the funds raised.
For the fourth consecutive year, Art restaurant of star chef Beppe De Vito, one of the most renowned names in food and wine excellence and owner of 5 restaurants in Singapore, will be in live connection from the prestigious National Gallery as the protagonist of the event. The restaurant will allocate the proceeds to Dreams Asia, an institution operating in education giving children equal opportunities to live their dreams and organising after-school projects and supporting their holistic development.
A new feature this year will be the connection with the city of Vienna, which will become the protagonist of the charity event, as organised by the Austrian delegation of Ordine dei Cavalieri del Tartufo e dei Vini di Alba collaborating with Enit Vienna. The event will be preceded by a press conference on Thursday 10th November held at the historic Metternich Palace, thanks to the precious collaboration of the Italian Embassy in the Republic of Austria.
A second new feature will be the connection with Qatar, with restaurant “Alba by Enrico Crippa”, opening soon in Doha, inside Katara Towers, where the three-star chef Enrico Crippa will bring from Alba his idea of an original, elegant and colourful cuisine, very loyal to local traditions and representing all Italian flavours.
